If you've been itching for a "Euro-American-Indie-Emo-Rock Experience," here's your chance. Lindale native Joel Rogers, now living in Switzerland, returns to East Texas with the band "Alive Wire" to perform original works on Saturday, billing it under the multi-hyphened sub-headline. "This is an experience for a generation searching for 'genuineness' by a means they understand," said Rogers. Joining the show is Roger's twin brother Jeff, who plays Djembe, an African drum...

...The show will be unique. Watching the Rogers brothers take the stage, one wonders if he's listening to musicians or looking at computer technicians putting up big-screen sized graphic art. It's a little of both, said the brothers. Even the name "Alive Wire" has its technical double entendre, said Jeff. "The name says something technical, but it's alive, not canned like listening to a CD or something. The idea is that it's always changing and different; a live feel with electronic influences.

Jeff Rogers jockeys video clips and layered graphics on a big screen during performances, while maintaining a complex beat on the Djembe. The pair performs using guitar, drum and a hobnob network of Macintosh laptop computers, video projectors, layered graphic images, sound loops, effects pedals coupled with emotive power chords and tender diminuendos, exuding intensity and the "realness" they seek...
